Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our multinational Design Team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, controlling, and successfully delivering customer projects from order receipt through final acceptance.
As a Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate third-party vendors, and act as the primary point of contact for our customers throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our customers. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
This position focuses primarily on project leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial execution rather than technical engineering activities.
You will report to the Project Management Team Lead and work in a hybrid model based in Root (Switzerland), Karlsruhe (Germany), or Prague (Czechia).
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of assigned projects while achieving customer schedule, margin, and quality objectives.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Forecast and report project resource requirements and financial performance.
- Apply advanced project management principles, tools, and scheduling techniques.
- Support the development and execution of strategic business initiatives.
- Manage individual projects or a portfolio of up to 20 concurrent projects.
- Administer subcontractors and suppliers, including labor-based and fixed-price deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage change orders and contract variations with customer representatives.
- Ensure project documentation, administration, and records are complete and maintained in accordance with company standards.
- Coach and support less experienced engineers and project team members.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within project execution processes.
- Coordinate and schedule resources to meet project objectives and delivery commitments.
The Essentials - You Will Have
- Minimum of 5 years of proven project management experience delivering projects for external customers.
- Fluency in English, German, and French.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in industrial automation.
- Experience managing multiple medium-sized customer projects simultaneously in a matrix organization.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills in an international environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies and standards such as PMI or IPMA.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have
- Additional qualifications in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Project Management.
- Experience in project financial management and budgeting.
- PMP, IPMA, or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Industry experience in Life Sciences, Consumer Goods, or Automotive sectors.
