Position Overview
Velociti Services is seeking a hands-on Project Manager Janitorial Services to lead shift operations overseeing a large custodial team. This role is responsible for managing daily janitorial operations, supporting Shift Supervisors, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across a large facility.
This is a working leadership role — the Project Manager is expected to be highly visible on the floor, actively engaged with the team, and willing to step in and perform janitorial duties when needed. This position also serves as the primary on-site contact for the customer.
This is a very fast-paced environment requiring strong leadership, urgency, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing operational needs.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee janitorial operations across assigned shift
- Supervise and support Shift Supervisors and a workforce of 65+ custodial staff
- Work alongside the team to ensure cleaning tasks are completed to standard
- Maintain a visible, hands-on presence throughout the facility
- Act as on-site liaison with the customer to address concerns and resolve issues in real time
- Ensure all janitorial services meet quality, safety, and cleanliness standards
- Conduct regular inspections and walkthroughs of the facility
- Drive accountability, productivity, and consistency across all cleaning teams
- Support staffing, scheduling, and labor coverage as needed
- Train, coach, and develop Shift Supervisors and frontline staff
- Partner with leadership to implement corrective actions and operational improvements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and site requirements
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities services operations
- Prior supervisory or lead experience managing large teams preferred
- Strong hands-on leadership style with willingness to work in the field
- Ability to manage through Shift Supervisors and large frontline teams
- Strong customer service and on-site client relationship skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license required
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
Pre-Screening Requirements
Candidates must meet all of the following conditions prior to start date:
- Must have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID-compliant identification
- Must be in good standing with federal and state tax obligations
- Student loans, if applicable, must be current or in good standing (not in default)
- Males ages 1825 must be registered with the Selective Service System
