Project Manager
Residential & Commercial
In-Studio
NCIDQ Preferred
Revit Required
About the Opportunity
We are a design-forward architecture and interior design firm with a reputation for delivering exceptional projects — on time, on budget, and to a standard our clients remember for decades. We are looking for a Project Manager who leads with ownership mentality: someone who wakes up thinking about the project and doesn’t stop until it’s done right.
This is not a 9-to-5 role. Design has a pulse and sometimes that pulse runs late. If you are at your best when the stakes are high, deadlines are real, and no two days look the same, you will thrive here.
What you will own
– Lead multiple projects simultaneously across residential and commercial sectors, from concept through construction administration
– Own project budgets end-to-end — tracking costs, forecasting profitability, and raising flags early when scope shifts
– Serve as the primary point of contact for clients: setting expectations, managing changes, and delivering news — good and bad — with professionalism
– Direct and mentor interior designers on your project teams, giving honest, constructive feedback and holding the team to the firm’s standard of excellence
– Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and consultants to keep projects moving without losing design integrity
– Attend site visits, client presentations, and design reviews — travel and irregular hours are part of the work
– Produce and review construction documents, specifications, and schedules with a practiced eye for accuracy
– Take feedback from firm leadership with the same openness you expect from your team
Who succeeds in this role
Our best performers share a common trait: they treat every project as if their name is on the door. They are self-directed, accountable, and relentless about quality. They do not require repeated reminders about deadlines, they do not deflect when things go sideways, and they understand that client satisfaction and project profitability are not competing priorities — they are both requirements.
This role demands full professional engagement. While we are deeply committed to our team’s wellbeing and offer strong benefits to support it, we are honest that design practice — especially at the project management level — requires flexibility, focus, and the willingness to do what a project needs to succeed. Candidates who require rigid schedules, frequent exceptions, or are unable to adapt to the tempo of live projects may find this role a poor fit.
We welcome people who are hungry to grow, who ask hard questions, who push back when something isn’t right, and who take immense personal pride in delivering beautiful, functional, enduring work.
Knowledge & skills
– Deep fluency in residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing
– Solid understanding of commercial design standards, code compliance, and tenant improvement processes
– Proven ability to manage client relationships through the full project lifecycle, including difficult conversations
– Demonstrated experience managing teams of designers and holding them accountable to timelines and quality benchmarks
– Strong written and verbal communication — you can write a clear project update and present to a boardroom with equal confidence
– Organized enough to track the details across a portfolio of concurrent projects without letting anything fall
– Proficiency in project management tools, fee tracking, and scheduling software
