Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Plans, manages, executes and controls all aspects of medium to large scale technology projects, resolving complex business issues.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Plans, manages, executes, and controls all aspects of technology and/or business process projects, orchestrating multiple activities at once to meet desired objectives. Develops and implements corporate business and operational strategies, executing short and long-term projects to deliver on internal customer needs and resolving issues related to departmental productivity and effectiveness. Uses creativity in developing process improvements and providing innovative solutions and process alternatives for increased efficiencies.
Leads the development of various project plans ensuring alignment of activities and priorities and creates management reports outlining and defining a project’s scope; capital and non-capital business cases, and technological/organizational changes. Identifies and manages risk, determines appropriate courses of action on complex issues relating to a specific functional area, business operation or strategy, while exercising judgment on moderately complex decisions that fall outside standard procedures, practices and policies.
Develops project objectives including schedules, clearly defined deliverables, resources and physical assets required to meet project requirements. Develops timelines and expectations for all elements of a project. Manages cross functional project teams and stakeholders across the enterprise. Anticipates and proactively manages change throughout the project cycle.
Gathers and analyses information from key business areas, drawing on knowledge experts from across the organization and involving teams as appropriate to compile data, and draw conclusions to make concise and logical recommendations. Clarifies and interprets the requests of other departments to understand their core needs, beyond those initially expressed by the customer while confirming understanding of objectives and clarifying how potential changes will impact the organization. Assesses the value and potential impact of solutions or alternatives including customer impact and cost implications.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The requirements for this job are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in business or computer sciences or a related discipline. And five (5) years of related experience or/and equivalent combination of education and experience. A Project Management Professional designation would be desirable.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Solid experience with the management of risk, change, issues, time, scope, resources, budget, and quality
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Project and other tools that support project management
Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with business and IT stakeholders
Good understanding of all major activities for a business system implementation such as analysis, design, development, and deployment
Ability to interact effectively with business and technology groups in order to deliver highly efficient solutions

Our team is growing, and we are looking for a results-driven Project Manager to lead the enhancement of our Real-Time Transit Information System (RTIS). In this role, you’ll work across departments and with external partners to improve the accuracy, reliability, and user experience of RTIS for our customers and operational teams. You’ll manage the full project lifecycle—from planning to implementation—while driving stakeholder alignment, system integration, and performance monitoring. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how thousands of people move through our city every day!
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.
This is a full-time temporary position for 12 months.

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $100,080 - $150,120 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
