The Department of Health Policy, Management, and Behavior at the University at Albany College of Integrated Health Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Research Project Manager. The Project Manager will work on research studies focused on HIV/STI prevention and treatment in marginalized communities especially among Black women in New York.
The applicant should have strong skills in coordinating research studies (preferably qualitative and randomized controlled trials), managing administrative aspects of study procedures, and community engagement. The applicant should have a strong scientific writing background and must be able to spearhead the programmatic components of research projects, including annual progress report writing to grant funding agencies, and managing the startup and logistics of a new community-engaged research project.
Description of Duties:
Coordinates routine activities of research studies including recruiting participants, data collection and maintenance, planning study timelines, scheduling appointments and study visits, conducting study visits, maintaining study logs/records and monitoring the progress of the projects to ensure study goals are met in a timely manner.
Coordinates and supervises the day-to-day activities of the study team.
Create and manage the study database using REDCap and Qualtrics (including generating reports).
Manage qualitative data using NVivo (including generating reports).
Prepare IRB submissions, regulatory and compliance reports; and ensure adherence to study protocols and study quality and maintain confidentiality of participants' data; and assist with conducting literature review and preparing manuscripts
Other duties as assigned to accomplish project/workplan activities.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in public health or related fields.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in HIV prevention/treatment
At least 1 year experience managing research studies (e.g., randomized controlled trials) including startup and logistics, recruiting, conducting study visits, data management and quality control
Prior experience managing administrative aspects of research studies
Must be familiar with creating IRB submissions and preparing reports for regulatory and funding agencies
Prior experience conducting literature reviews and preparing scientific reports/manuscripts
Prior experience working in marginalized communities and engaging communities/stakeholders including organizing/ leading community/stakeholders' meetings
Demonstrate ability to create and manage projects in REDCap and Qualtrics.
Familiarity with NVivo qualitative software.
Have experience with statistical software such as SAS & SPSS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other Microsoft products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding project management skills.
Detail oriented
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
Demonstrate the ability to work with people of all backgrounds
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in public health or related field.
2-3 year experience in community outreach and engagement.
2-3 year experience working on research studies including participant recruitment and data collection (conduct study visits).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
2-3 years experience working with diverse, underserved, or priority populations.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
1 year experience with health promotion, HIV prevention/treatment initiatives preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other Microsoft products.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $26,000-$29,000 (DOE)
