Department Overview
Corporate IT Infrastructure department is seeking a highly experienced senior technical project manager to join our team. This position will manage projects related to Rakuten's core application development systems and toolsets.

Position Details

The ideal candidate would have a strong technical background, communicate effectively with executives, development teams, and vendors, manage numerous complex projects and deliver specified projects within agreed time, quality and cost. Additional responsibilities include reporting project status to management, researching and working with senior leaders and architects to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities:

- Research technical requests and provide recommendations to technology leaders and management

- Create project plans and roadmaps, align internal and external teams to the plans

- Report project status to executive management

- Manage project priority and risk across the portfolio

- Coordinate proof of concepts and investigation efforts

- Communicate effectively with senior executives, architects, development teams, and vendors

- Work independently to ensure the successful completion of projects

- Manage various SaaS migration projects

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 8+ years of project management experience

- Project management certification (PMI, PRINCE, PMP)

- Strong technical background especially software development area

- Familiarity with application development lifecycle tools

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to work independently

- Business level in English and Japanese

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in business analysis, cost management

- Communication/negotiation with multiple vendors

- Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence

- Basic technical writing skills

- Experience with technical training
