Purpose:
This position will support hardware, software and IT related upgrades and migrations to create sustainable infrastructure solutions and cost-savings. Secondary duties will include managing customer-facing projects during the deployment phase (or post-deployment phase in conjunction with Operations in a customer support capacity).
Responsibilities:
- Plan, facilitate, track, communicate, and complete organization's operational and infrastructure projects, including, but not limited to, the movement of hardware between data centers, installation of new hardware, decommissioning and disposal of legacy hardware and software applications, and installation of new software.
- Utilize applicable practices from PMBOK to manage tasks and resources within SOW scope and timeline established for the project.
- Oversee cross‐functional team activities and team members in a matrix environment to meet the strategic objectives of the Customer Experience, Operations, and PMO teams.
- Gain support and buy-in from key senior leadership, including VP level leaders, to obtain required resources to support cross-functional team support on cost-savings projects, such as infrastructure upgrades, modernization, data center migrations, and other projects as assigned.
- Utilize online project tracking systems, such as MS Project, Clickup, and Jira.
- Ensure designs, specifications, configurations, procedures, and other deliverables are properly documented in approved knowledge management and ITSM systems.
- Identify, track, and manage cost, schedule, and/or quality‐related risks to Operations projects.
- Manage and communicate project plans to senior‐level internal stakeholders and team members.
- Assist with the development of project playbooks and SOPs to support standardized planning, deployment, and/or decommissioning.
- Resolve project issues in a timely manner by efficiently utilizing appropriate resources, methods, and internal procedures.
- Implement and adhere to established ISO processes for repeatable process flow, artifact collection, and project metrics.
- Manage the deployment of Comtech location services, messaging and wireless emergency alert products on customer facing projects
- Oversee the transition of projects from deployment to production, and assist with operations support, facilitating a customer support role
- Track and deliver project metrics related to budget, schedule and quality on a regular basis.
- Perform other projects as assigned to support senior leadership goals.
Requirements:
- Ability to create logical and complete plans with a clear path to success with minimal direction or guidance.
- Excellent communication skills ability to present complex information to a wide audience, from engineers to senior management.
- Strong ability to influence key senior leadership at VP level and above to obtain alignment and the necessary resources to meet expectations
- Ability to work effectively with very senior telecommunications industry architects and engineers.
- Meeting facilitation, team motivation, and team building experience.
- Day to day budget analysis, resource & schedule management, and reporting
- Ability to quickly assess and summarize relevant content from contract documentation, understanding of contract negotiations process
- Excellent problem‐solving skills and ability to brainstorm and lead team in planning and execution of "first‐time" and/or "one‐time" projects that are unique in nature.
- Experience with Jira or other issue/ticket reporting and tracking systems.
- Experience with MS Project, Confluence, or other project management tools.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
- Highly adaptable, resourceful, determined, and organized
- 10 plus years' experience managing IT‐related projects.
- Experience managing one or more of the following (or similar) projects: data center migrations, enterprise architecture projects, telecommunications system deployments, cloud native software deployments, life cycle replacement projects, enterprise infrastructure projects.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree desired, Computer Science, IT, or similar.
- Current PMP certification
The pay range reflects the expected base salary for this position. Final compensation will be based on role, level, skills, experience, and geographic location.
