Quality Manager - West CoastDepartment: Quality Management Reports To: General Manager
Location: On-Site - Newark, CA Travel: 25% to Carson City, NV Site
FLSA: Salaried, Full-Time, Exempt Revision Date: December 2025
SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager - West Coast will serve as a leader in advancement, improvement, and maintenance of quality functions and philosophies, in accordance with customer, industry, NADCAP, and AS9100 standards. This role will monitor and improve the company's products and services through the implementation of NADCAP and AS9100 quality standards, problem-solving tools, prevention methods, quality-at-the-source, and continual improvement techniques. This role is accountable for managing department resources to support achievement of operational objectives. This role interacts routinely with all functional areas as well as with customers, business development, regulatory agencies, corporate management, and suppliers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates customer, regulatory, and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Oversees the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and the standards set by corporate/division policies.
- Works within the Leadership Team to ensure that individuals performing quality affecting functions are trained, demonstrate appropriate skills, and deliver performance results.
- Coordinates necessary personnel for internal, customer, and third-party quality system audits.
- Maintains a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints.
- Observe and analyze organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction, and the cost. Use the results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts.
- Assess supplier capabilities and monitor supplier quality to ensure desired levels of performance.
- Serves as Quality Management Representative of the West Coast.
- Direct internal audit programs and efforts.
- Serve as Management representative for AS9100 and NADCAP accreditations.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Program Management to ensure internal, industry and customer specifications are reasonably and effectively identified and executed upon.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises Team Members and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities to include; interviewing, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Excellent attention to detail

- Demonstrated NADCAP accreditation experience
- Software proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Auto Cad Inventor, Pro/Engineer
- and web-based applications.

- Knowledge of manufacturing and quality practices
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. Degree in an Engineering or related discipline; may be substituted by commensurate experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience including MRB authority/participation in an AS9100 environment.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience leading NADCAP accreditation efforts.
- Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Authorization to work in the United States. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, you should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
