Description
Roles at this level will direct and manage the delivery of large and complex projects, manage relationships with senior stakeholders and provide leadership role to project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for delivery of large scale and complex projects
- Responsible for project definition and delivery
- Lead a large team, setting objectives, managing performance and ensuring that staff have the necessary skills to deliver the project objectives
- Responsible for establishing project delivery plans and appropriate control and governance mechanisms to assure effective delivery of the project
- Manage multiple consultants and contractors
- Work within established financial systems to independently produce plans and schedules and track and manage budgets, highlighting variances in order to manage and control project delivery targets
- Use own knowledge and experience of industry best practice to implement and manage project processes and policies. Provide insightful recommendations that may support any improvement to processes and systems
- Present any business project risks or issues to senior managers (with proposed mitigation) to ensure the project is not adversely impacted, and ensure the delivery of projects to compliant standards
- Liaise and collaborate with clients and key stakeholders, in order to ensure all parties are informed and aware of project progress and expectations
- Analyse and review complex information from a range of data sources, in order to identify how different options may impact project delivery and advise clients and internal stakeholders on potential implications and mitigations
- Act as a technical expert within own projects, providing strategic advice to other senior managers, in order to support successful delivery in line with project objectives and strategies
- Assure compliance with contracts in terms of project delivery parameters and scope of service
- Develop and manage team leaders
- Translate business objectives into operational financial targets, producing clearly defined business cases, plans and schedules for projects, and taking responsibility for meeting the profit and budgetary targets of the project
- Talent development and succession planning
- Deliver aspects of Currie & Brown's vision to their respected project(s)
Skills, experience & qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Project management professional certification or accreditation
- Previous experience leading large scale and complex projects
- Proven ability to manage, motivate and lead large teams
- Strong pre-contract and post-contract experience
- Excellent contract administration experience
- Leading project management expert
- Experience of managing stakeholders at executive level
