Description
Job Description:Business Overview
Rakuten Group's mission is to contribute to society by creating value through innovation and entrepreneurship. Rakuten provides more than 70 services across a wide range of fields, including the following: internet services, such as e-commerce, travel, and digital content; fintech services, such as credit cards, banking, securities, e-money, and cashless payments; mobile services, such as providing a mobile carrier service; and professional sports. By seamlessly linking these services through Rakuten membership, we have formed a truly unique "Rakuten Ecosystem".
Department Overview
At Rakuten, we aim to empower society through unmanned delivery and are seeking new members to lead our robot delivery business.
The Robot Delivery Business started in 2018, with a delivery experiment on a university campus in May 2019, followed by Japan's first service for general users from a supermarket to a nearby park in September-October of the same year. In August-September 2020, we expanded our services to a glamping facility, and in April 2021, we extended our services from supermarkets to nearby residential areas. Since May 2022, we have been providing regular services around Tsukuba Station for over a year. We have been providing services in the Harumi area of Chuo Ward, Tokyo, since November 2024, and are continuously working on improving and expanding our services.
In this position, you will primarily take the lead in all tasks related to robots, including the introduction of robots both domestically and internationally, the development and improvement of operations involving robots, and the integration between robots and Rakuten's systems. Specifically, your responsibilities will include identifying and organizing issues in ongoing services, proposing and implementing solutions in collaboration with robot manufacturers, supporting manufacturers with necessary reviews and procedures for robot operations, assisting in the development of integration between robots and Rakuten's delivery management system, and driving the consideration and implementation of new robot introductions both in Japan and overseas.
